46: Forgotten Weald — Rounds, Portals

We begin a game of Rounds, our second live run after a test on the staging server. This game features no merchat putting pressure on Trading Posts, which have new limitations. It is a large map, but due to the crown system, first past the post will still be the primary ingredient.

Game Start: Players enjoy the new map. Visslar posted to Reddit so we should get some new participants. A heavy worker demand village with 2% Trees on map will be a deciding factor in late game HQ.

New building Wonder is in play.

Please be advised, previous 12 HR chart was incorrect. Current display of 12 and 24 below is accurate. There is an issue with VPS not equalling 100% but the ratios should be sound. Tied up today with family stuff and will rebuild my calculations in excel tomorrow.

12 Hr and 24 Hr VPS. Yellow has taken the first round. Green and Blue are fighting for second round during Fog of War.

48 Hours

Red’s Victory Points are off the scale at 50% of total VP, so I visually knocked that down to 40% for charting.

Periods 24 hour and 48 hour chart above. BurnedAether’s site companion is down so we cannot calcuate tile data. However, Green clearly has a lead on Workers plus Soldiers after winning Round 2. Red’s VP guarantees Round 3, especially with To the Sky event looming. This will even up all factions with a round each except for Blue. VPS (scaling calc) is not a real factor between rounds, or when one team is winning a round.

60 Hours

48 and 60 hour chart above. Green continues to outmatch all teams on Soldier + Worker. Much like Red in the previous round, Blue now has 50% VP, which has been adjusted for the display. With 2 hours left until a castle victory, Red, Green and Yellow cut off Blue’s supply lines and sucessfully broke their lock on 4 swords.

72 Hours

Green is clearly dominating all others as factions have 1 Crown each. Yellow is attempting to stay within VP range for Round 5 as Green tries to keep all 4 sword tiles.

84 Hours

Green’s commanding lead has been challenged by Yellow’s Worker dominance, and encroaching soldier values. Yellow has taken Round 5, so all board malice will be directed at them further. A grand strategy by Yellow or by Green? Red has soared in Soldiers and Blue has diminished across the board.

96 Hours

This might be the last chart with VP/VPS since it is not a factor gamewide, especialy the way that rounds tend to run with one team dominating. They will return if there is a tight race.

Timelapse

Since Workers+Soldiers in the only true metric on the original data, below is a compiled chart of relative W+S for each faction over the last 4 days.

Green and Yellow had a good lead for a while but Red’s total soldiers placed on the board hit nearly 40% of the total. Green and Yellow still hold a high Worker production. Blue continues to be below 20% on both.
