Post-Game Analysis

43: Beralich 2, Six Days of Electric Boogaloo

On Friday, Jan 2nd, we explored a reworked Beralich map. Little did we know, it would not end until Wednesday, Jan 7th at 7 PM.

Game 43 was a non-stop assault. Every attempt to move against a faction or defend against action occured all hours of the day, every day for nearly a week. Coordinating on events, the rare Raider’s Moon, and accepting losses in favor of later gains were all meaningfully calculated by each faction. Yet despite Red’s power in mid-game, no team could fully overtake any other until the last 24 hours. If you previously read this post at the start on Day 1 or 2, you can skip the Updates and move striaght to End Game.

To everyone who played – an unreal game and I commend you all.

Early Game: at the start, Green and Yellow break out and capture the most territory.

Updates

As the game contninues, Red and Green begin leading reinforcements

While all teams even up on total power (VP% x (worker + soldier) )

HQ Levels

End Game

Resources sent on Red declined while rising on other teams. Only to be outperformed by the Post’s production.

Halfway through the game, territory was equal across factions.

On Jan 6th, the first Raider’s Moon event occured, with three factions choosing Red as the target. As Yellow, Green and Blue took their territory, they also reinforced their new positions in center and in enemy spaces, leading them to grow in VP. Although each team outperformed Red on attack, Red reinforced heavily and held for the main assault.

NoX worked out a theory of production leveraging Trading Posts. Their production can be seen here around the 58 hour mark.

The best example we have of the production changes between the factions can be seen below.

I have newly formatted it to be more distinct, and with a black background going forward.

Early on, Red was low on VP and this continued until the last day. As Trading Posts generated resources, Red Workers and Soldiers on the board increased dramatically, to nearly 50% of total production of all factions.

Final Rounds

Eventually, Red was able to take advantage of the Power Factor discrepancy, just as other factions began to benefit from production of resources from their own Trading Posts.

Blue continued to dominate the NW and battle Green for SW tiles. Yellow held against several attacks on the NE tile. Red began testing the SE tile against Green.

Starting around 1 PM, Red pushed for all the four castle tiles, and after capture, reinforced.

Although Red was still below in VP, the hold on 4 tiles remained with powerful Guardian auras, ending the game before Yellow’s untouched King could award the winning points.

Note: While I do not utilize the API, there are still plenty of insights to be gained from available data, and in the future I hope to be able to produce new and helpful information for all to review.
